Help
Your club’s Play-Cricket fixtures, results, stats and live scoreboards — filtered to the teams you star as FAV. This is the same guide as the ? help button inside the app.
The public Cricket Local app — look for the Live badge in the header. All data is pulled from public Play-Cricket pages; nothing is entered by hand. Install it on your phone for quick access on match day (see Install the app below).
Open the Home tab and set your home club — search, pick your club, and save. Optionally choose a default team. Then open Teams and tap ★ on the sides you follow — only starred FAV teams appear on Fixtures, Results and Match Day. Home also shows your next fixture and latest result. Your club, FAV teams and preferences are saved on this device. To browse another club temporarily, use Search other clubs on Home.
Six tabs: Home (club hub with highlights), Teams (every side at your club — star ★ for FAV), Fixtures (upcoming matches for FAV teams only), Results (finished matches for FAV teams only), Players (career stats), and Live (Match Day — live scoreboards and bulletins for FAV teams).
The Teams tab lists every side at your home club — 1st XI, 2nd XI, juniors, Sunday teams and more. Tap ★ to mark a FAV (favourite) team. Starred sides drive Fixtures, Results and Match Day — unstarred teams stay on Teams only. Tap a team name for its full page. Club stats opens league tables and awards.
Fixtures and Results show matches for your FAV teams only — star at least one team on Teams first. Fixtures list upcoming games with date, time, division, venue and a form guide (recent W/L/D). Results show compact scoreboards — tap a card for the full scorecard when Play-Cricket has published it. Tap the pin for Google Maps. Use Share to send a score to friends.
Players — pick your club, then use Search player by name (type at least 2 letters of a surname or full name). Tap a result for all-time career stats and season-by-season detail. From a profile, tap Search another player or clear the box to look up someone new. Captains Chair (top of Players) shows weekly DCCL eligibility.
The bottom Live tab is your Match Day hub — only for teams you have starred as FAV. A high-contrast bulletin ticker scrolls wickets, scores and milestones. Each FAV team gets a rich live scoreboard when in play — batters, bowlers, run rates and recent balls update automatically. Before kick-off, cards show which team is playing and when. Tap Refresh all or pull down to refresh. Star at least one team on Teams before match day.
Tap the gear icon in the header. Dark mode switches the app to a night-friendly theme — your choice is saved on this device. Turn on notifications for new results, live bulletins and match reminders (about one hour before a FAV fixture); allow alerts in your browser when prompted. Install App adds Cricket Local to your home screen.
Open Settings and tap Install App, or use your browser’s install prompt. On iPhone: Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android Chrome: follow the “Add to Home screen” banner. No account is needed — your home club and FAV teams stay on the device either way.
Tap ↻ in the header to reload from Play-Cricket. On mobile, pull down at the top of a tab to refresh. The status bar shows when data was last updated; if it says data may be stale, tap refresh. Live scoreboards auto-refresh during matches.
Cricket Local only shows what Play-Cricket has published. Missing fixtures, results, form guides or live detail usually means the club or league has not posted them yet — rich live scoreboards need a published digital scorecard. Try again after scorers update Play-Cricket, then tap ↻.
Every club can use Home, Teams, Fixtures, Results, Players and Match Day. Extra club tools — player availability from a sheet, captain team selection, Hall of Fame, Captains Chair and fantasy — are switched on per club when requested. We onboard clubs on request so each side gets the right setup.

Contact usOur promise
Cricket Local exists so every club, player, parent and fan can follow grassroots cricket without paywalls. We are building and running this as a not-for-profit community project — free for everyone to use.
The app is free to open and use. There is no subscription fee for fans, players or clubs. We want local cricket information to stay accessible to everyone, not locked behind a paywall.
Match lists, results, live scores and club details come from public Play-Cricket information that clubs and leagues already publish. We show that public data more clearly — we do not sell it, scrape private systems, or invent scores.
Account features only store what you choose to provide — for example home club, favourite teams, sign-in details, and (where your club is onboarded) availability answers for captains. That input is used to run the service for you and your club, not for advertising profiles.
Cricket Local is not a commercial product chasing profit from club cricket. Any support we receive is intended to cover the real costs of keeping the service running — not to generate returns for owners or investors.
Hosting, cloud services, domains, email and development time all have a real cost. To keep Cricket Local free, we have a JustGiving crowdfunding page so supporters can contribute if they wish — purely optional, with no pressure and no effect on access to the app.
Donations go toward running hosts, services and other overheads that keep the app online for clubs. Thank you to everyone who chips in.

Cricket Local is free to use and run as a not-for-profit project. We display publicly available club cricket information primarily sourced from Play-Cricket (ECB).
